“Sharing Results of ‘Schools for Gender Equity’ at Istituto Omnicomprensivo Marsciano
The Teachers’ Board of the Istituto Omnicomprensivo “Salvatorelli Moneta” in Marsciano was held on 25 October. During the meeting, the projects for the current school year were presented, but were also shared the results of some projects carried out last year. In particular, during Thursday’s meeting, two ebooks resulting from the Erasmus+ KA2 project ‘Schools for Gender Equity’ were projected and shared with all the teachers of the institute. It was the Omnicomprensivo di Marsciano that took part in this project on behalf of Italy, alongside schools from the other participating countries: Spain, Portugal, Greece, Estonia and Romania. The first ebook presented collects twelve finalist short stories for each of the six participating schools, in which, on the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), an international competition entitled ‘She felt…’ (the opening sentence of the short stories) took place. The students tried their hand at inventing short stories of 200 words, capturing a moment, a thought or a feeling they considered significant. All the teachers agreed in praising the quality of the students’ work. The other ebook presented is a collection of educational tools, from short activities to games to real historical and literary paths, which aim to make students reflect on the meaning of gender equality and how many stereotypes still exist in our societies. Above all, this ebook aroused the curiosity and questions of all teachers, who were curious to put the activities into practice and try them out. Given these premises, we hope that this will be a school year under the banner of gender equity.
