“Meeting with Palmira Association to Discuss Gender Equity and Refugee Integration”

On December 10, 2023, we had a meeting with representatives from the Palmira Association, including its President. Asociación Andaluza de Ayuda al Refugiado Palmira is an Andalusian non- profit organisation whose aim is to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the war in Syria, as well as to promote the integration of refugees in the hosting countries. It also advocates for the defence of human rights in the Arab world and raises the flag of peace. Its work is essential to foster a culture of peace and respect in our communities.

During the meeting, we present the project and the President of the association found it very interesting as gender equity is of great importance in society and young people should be more aware and sensitized to this issue. The main feedback from the meeting highlighted that the project's objectives were very well-aligned with the activities that both organisations we carry out. There was also appreciation for the creativity in developing the short stories contest to engage youth and raise awareness about it.
