“Physics Teachers Advocate for Gender Equity in Education”

On September 20, 2023, an event took place at the meeting of physics teachers from Vaslui-Negrești area, where the Erasmus+ project “Schools for gender equity” was presented. The participants not only have solid skills in teaching physics, but also show a strong commitment to promoting equality and inclusion in education, some are headteachers, others are school principals. During the meeting, the objectives of the project, the activities included in the calendar and the final products to be made were announced. The participants showed their appreciation towards the teachers of our high school as a result of their involvement in a European partnership project on gender equity, considered a sensitive topic in Romania, due to the persistence of prejudices and gender stereotypes. They expressed their conviction that such a project, carried out in partnership with other countries, allows the exchange of experiences and the adaptation of solutions that have been successful in other contexts, contributing to the creation of lasting changes in Romanian education. They expressed their desire to obtain the methodological manual for education on the subject of the project and other final products.
